Hosting workshops and lectures of all sizes, Literature HK makes English literature and reading accessible to the Hong Kong public beyond language barriers. Discussions span from poetry to novels, with no prior knowledge required.

English literature is not just about escaping into fiction. Rather, fiction reveals the most authentic, the most human. Louis believes the AI era will be the richest time for humanities exploration. It has arrived: the indispensable moment to find our own voices. AI’s authoritative voice may have influenced your thinking without you realising it. It is even more important for the youth to understand their interiority, their own voices. Without it we cannot think. English literature has been helping different people across different fields to understand their inner voices and embrace self contradictions. Think Jeff Bezos and how The Remains of the Day inspired him. We overhear our true thoughts in fictional characters: the indecision of Hamlet or the resentment of Ahab in Moby-Dick. In our discussion we try to better understand beautiful language and, above all, the inner voice of humanity.
